I can count the number of times I visited the Galleria Mall, well, mostly because of its location. This time around I found myself shopping for Christmas gifts. After a few hours, we got hungry and started looking for places to eat. Once we got to the food court, we saw a couple of cuisine restaurants. I can't remember the last time I had Indian food, thank God we all thought the same. As a cuisine fanatic, I was a bit sceptical. I find food court cuisines a bit different from the actual cuisine restaurant. Once we ordered, it took 10 minutes before our food came. The food presentation was average, but I was too hungry to care. After taking the first bite I forgot about my colleague, that's how good it was. I really enjoyed the food. Since the restaurant was located within the food court, there was nothing else to look at. They shared the seating area with the other restaurants. As for the service, A+, the waiter was really helpful.
My family has this tradition of treating the birthday boy or girl to a cuisine restaurant. Out of the 3 most visited, Indian food is the most preferred. Of all the Indian restaurants that I have visited, Open House Karen is the most consistent. The food has never changed, good Asian music in the background and very friendly staff. My family and friends have never complained about their services. This is because they have maintained the same staff from the chef, waiters and manager. Takeout I order once a month and especially on Sundays....yes, when you invite your lady over and say you will cook. You have to smear the stew on the sufuria to create evidence. That never worked but at least she enjoyed the meal. All you have to do is call, give the manager the order and wait for 30 minutes then go pick it up. Make sure to get the tangerine juice, you will not regret it. The only sad thing is that it only opens on specific times. I advise you to call them and book in advance to avoid being disappointed.
Located within the La Enzi Plaza, it is hard to see it, at first. I like the interior, I feel they have utilized the space properly. Once I sat, the waiter approached me but didn't have a menu. I asked him for one and to my surprise, they didn't have one. The waiter had to tell me verbally what they had. I ordered beef stew with chapati. The chapati was ok but the meat was really hard. Normally, I would complain but the waiter was rarely there. Since it's new, it can still improve. I will definitely go there for pastries.
Ever since I started coming here Faith Deli has never disappointed. If you want an early breakfast along Mombasa road this is the place for you. Now and then I come here to eat lunch, I dread it because of how busy it can get since it's located within a food court Food is good except for the vegies, sometimes you will find big chunk of cabbage. Service is ok but needs improvement.
